What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy (PT) is a branch of medicine that focuses on movement. People are referred to PT for many reasons, including injury, pain, or neurological disorders. Many who have recently had an orthopedic surgery, such as a Total Knee replacement or rotator cuff repair, will often be referred to PT for ongoing treatment to help regain full range of motion and muscular control.

Coordinating Your Care
While you are being treated at RMPT, we coordinate directly with your primary physician and surgeon, and develop a good working relationship. In the event that your therapy is not going in a positive direction, we can re-assess the situation and come up with a better plan.

Developing a Plan for Your Care

During your first visit, a physical therapist will assess your condition and develop a plan of care specifically designed to help you get back to your prior level of function. Your therapist will use a variety of tools to assist with your treatment, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ice or heat packs, mechanical traction, and many more. Therapeutic exercise is a large component of PT, and your therapist will direct you in performing these exercises to maximize effectiveness. Your therapist may also perform manual therapy on you, which involves manually stretching, massaging, or mobilizing certain areas of your body to increase your range of motion.

I haven't found anything that would ease my back pain. I got 12 sessions of PT subscribed from the case worker, I only needed 7 once Tanaye had me on a regimen that helped me right out. She gave me a list of exercises to do at home the rest of my life. I am now doing a lot better. The facilities were immaculate and I appreciate that I never ever had to wait no matter how early I showed up. --Jake G (rateabiz.com)
I have been through a very difficult time recovering from bone cancer surgery. The staff at Rocky Mountain have been wonderful helping get through it. I just love the salt water pool and all the other nice equipment they have to help me get better. Special thanks to Tanaye, Renee and Kelley.--Eric A. (rateabiz.com)
